About

Plantar Fasciitis is an inflammation of the connective tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot called the plantar fascia. Typically, people with plantar fasciitis experience heel and/or arch pain. If left untreated, plantar fasciitis can lead to the development of heel spurs (new bone growth at the bottom of your heel) and other foot problems.

Cause

Plantar Fasciitis often develops when the foot overpronates (arches collapse and ankle rolls in). As the foot overpronates, the plantar fascia is overstretched, which causes inflammation, and perhaps the development of new bone at the heel where the plantar fascia inserts into the heel (heel spur).

Treatment

Following your initial consultation, the foot specialist will create a customized treatment plan that will address the PAINFUL SYMPTOMS and THE CAUSE. Addressing both the painful inflammation and biomechanical disorders will ensure long-term relief.

Why Do I Get Heel Pain in the Morning?

It is common to experience heel pain in the morning. When you are resting or sleeping, the plantar fascia shortens. When you step out of bed in the morning, you are stretching the plantar fascia. That initial stretch causes pain. Once the plantar fascia has warmed up, the pain subsides.

Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics can address the underlying biomechnical cause of Plantar Fasciitis. It's a great pain-free and drug-free treatment option!
